Series Overview

This series will utilize lectures, cases, and panel discussions aimed at enhancing knowledge and competence among fellows, advanced practice providers, MDs, and referring physicians specializing in advanced heart failure and transplant, cardiothoracic surgery and cardiac ICU. The evolving series will be designed with input from learners. We will cover a wide range of topics pertaining to advances in AHFTx, best practices, and examination of patient outcomes.

MD/DO, APRN, Physician Assistants, and Fellows

Learning Objectives

As a result of participation in this educational activity, members of the healthcare team will increase their ability to:

  1. Define and describe the pathophysiology and clinical presentation of cardiogenic shock.
  2. Identify indications, contraindications, and appropriate timing for escalating support in cardiogenic shock.
  3. Integrate multidisciplinary team approaches in the management of cardiogenic shock.
