Overview

This course provides participants with up-to-date education on the latest evidence-based practice initiatives to enhance clinical decision-making and patient care. Learners will explore new, evolving, high-risk, and low-volume practices relevant to their field. The curriculum includes hands-on training in BLS/CPR and AED usage, safe chemotherapy administration and documentation, and the selection and use of appropriate safe patient handling equipment.

This activity has been designed to change learner competence and focuses on the following competencies:

  • Practice-based learning and improvement

Intended Audience

This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of nurses.

Learning Objectives

    As a result of this activity, participants, as members of the healthcare team will be able to:

    1. Determine the best practice care for the surgical gynecology patient

    2. Demonstrate care of patients with chest tubes, tracheostomies, and heparin drips

    3. Verbalize ways to improve team communication and collaboration
