Intended Audience

This activity is designed by and for physicians, APPs (PA/NP), nurses, social workers, and security staff. 

Learning Objectives

After participating in this activity, members of the healthcare team will be able to: 

  • Identify signs of child neglect and abuse 
  • List the steps to initiate child protection services
  • Describe mandatory reporting requirements
  • Explain documentation requirements
  • Utilize effective multidisciplinary team communication
  • Identify and apply appropriate de-escalation techniques
  • Identify emotional and physical self-care strategies

It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.
