This activity is for staff of UW Health. Learners will explore topics related to child maltreatment. 

Intended Audience

This activity is designed by and for physicians, APPs (PA/NP), nurses, social workers, and security staff. 

Learning Objectives

After participating in this activity, members of the healthcare team will be able to: 

  • Identify signs of child neglect and abuse 
  • List the steps to initiate child protection services
  • Describe mandatory reporting requirements
  • Explain documentation requirements
  • Utilize effective multidisciplinary team communication
  • Identify and apply appropriate de-escalation techniques
  • Identify emotional and physical self-care strategies

Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Maintenance of Certification: American Board of Pediatrics

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn up to 7.25 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

Requests for cancellation must be submitted in writing to [email protected]. Cancellation requests received at least 96 hours prior to the conference will allow a full refund except for the nonrefundable processing fee. No refunds will be made for cancellations received less than 96 hours prior to the activity start date.
