Series Overview
A number of common substance use disorders can be effectively addressed in primary care settings. Also importantly, hospitalized patients frequently have a substance use issue that may lead to or complicate their hospital stay. This educational series is designed to review and discuss important aspects of the assessment and management of patients who use alcohol and other drugs in general medical settings with a focus on care delivery in settings where specialty care is not readily accessible.
Intended Audience
MD/DO, RN, Physician Assistants, Social Workers, Students, CSAC, Behavioral Health Providers, and Peer Recovery Services.
Learning Objectives
As a result of participation in this educational activity, members of the healthcare team will:
- Explain 1 or more common herbal or adulterant stimulant being used in 2025.
- Explain 1 or more common herbal or adulterant depressant being used in 2025.
- Explain 1 or more common herbal or adulterant hallucinogen being used in 2025.
