Series Overview

This learning opportunity is part of the new state-wide Baby Badger Network (BBN), a multidisciplinary team of genetics experts and neonatologists / NICU clinicians at community nurseries.  The BBN is designed to increase knowledge and skills regarding genomic testing and increase access to genomic testing for critically ill neonates (CIN) thereby improving equity and health care for this vulnerable population.  

 

Global Objectives

As a result of participation in this educational series, members of the healthcare team will:

  • Identify CIN candidates for genomic testing
  • Integrate genomic testing for CIN into their practice including: facilitate ordering, consenting parents, interpreting results and/or communicating results
  • Improve interprofessional communication when implementing genomic testing in CINs
  • Increase access to genomic testing for CINs in local or community nurseries and thereby address disparities in healthcare
