Objectives:

  1. Identify the Basics of Candidacy for Over-the-Counter Hearing Aids: Participants will be able to differentiate suitability for over-the-counter hearing aids vs. prescription hearing aids, including understanding when professional audiological consultation may be necessary.
  2. Identify Possible Psychological and Cognitive Effects of Untreated Hearing Loss: Participants will be able to recognize potential psychological and cognitive consequences of untreated hearing loss.
  3. Discuss Realistic Expectations for Hearing Aid Use: Participants will be able to articulate the primary benefits and limitations for hearing aid use and why consistent use is important for full acclimation to hearing devices.
