2023 Cardiovascular Medicine and Prevention Update for Primary Care - Hybrid Symposium
Join us for this year's Cardiovascular Medicine & Prevention Update for Primary Care on Friday, April 14, 2023 at the Monona Terrace Community & Convention Center in Madison, Wisconsin . We are pleased to announce that this year's conference will be provided in a hybrid format. Learners will be able to select the virtual live-stream option at registration.
This year's symposium will feature topics such as weight management medications, limitations of genetic testing for cardiac disease, treatment of patients with valve and aortic disease, and electrophysiology and anticoagulation.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, nurses and other allied health personnel working in the field of primary care who treat and evaluate patients in need of prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
Elements of Competence
This CE activity has been designed to improve learner competence and focuses on the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and American Association of Colleges of Nursing areas of patient care and procedural skills, practice-based learning and improvement, systems-based practice, providing patient/person-centered care and medical knowledge.
This activity also focuses on the interprofessional competency of teams/teamwork and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion competency of addressing healthcare disparities
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of the activity, the healthcare team will be able to:
- Apply current standards and practice guidelines to treatment approaches that address optimal cardiovascular health.
- Discuss the impact of new and evolving research, guidelines, and medications on care provided in the primary care setting.
- Identify the underlying causes of health disparities and how a team-based approach to patient care can reduce the impact on patient health.

At the time of this event portions of the Monona Terrace parking ramp will be undergoing renovation. Please plan additional travel time to find parking. Additional information is provided below:
- Access to the parking ramp will only be from the John Nolen Drive entrance (the Wilson/Carroll street entrance and Level 4 drop off lane will both be closed). Exits will still remain open at John Nolen Drive.

No refunds will be made for cancellations received less than 96 hours prior to the activity start date.
