Conference Overview
This activity enhances participants' knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors, with a focus on recent advances in preventive care, acute and chronic disease management, and enhancement of practitioner application of national priorities in health systems improvement. Topics and speakers were carefully considered to be sure that we addressed current challenges for health care issues routinely encountered by primary care providers and their health professional teams. The overall objective of this activity is to provide a comprehensive review of the most important advances in internal medicine and its sub-specialties essential for all medical professionals who care for adults in the following areas:

Elements of Competence
This activity has been designed to change learner competence and focuses on the American Board of Medical Specialties areas of patient care and procedural skills and medical knowledge. This activity also focuses on the interprofessional competencies of roles and responsibilities.
Intended Audience
This activity is designed to meet the needs of primary care physicians, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, and other health care professionals who are interested in expanding their knowledge and improving their care of patients.
Learning Objectives
As a result of participation in this educational series, members of the healthcare team will be able to:
- Describe recent advances in preventive care, acute and chronic disease management, and practitioner application of national priorities in health systems improvement
- Identify current challenges for health care issues routinely encountered by primary care teams
- Identify health disparities that may impact access to care and/or the management of patients
- Manage the impact of bias, class, and power on the clinical encounter and strategize ways to counteract bias in the clinical encounter

No refunds will be made for cancellations received less than 5 days prior to the activity start date.
