2022 Monkeypox: Facts You Need to Know
In June 2022, the CDC issued a health alert to healthcare providers about monkeypox as it observed symptoms and disease spread that differed from typical outbreaks. In addition, infections were occurring in the United States among people who had not traveled internationally.
The rapid dissemination of news and information about this disease, methods of transmission, and populations most impacted led to the spread of misinformation and misidentification of this disease among healthcare providers and the public.
This lecture and panel discussion will address the current epidemiology and diagnosis of monkeypox along with best practices regarding treatment and vaccine administration. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions of the expert panel to dispel misunderstandings about the spread and treatment of the disease.

This workshop is designed to meet the needs of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and pharmacists, and other health care providers who care for patients at risk of contracting or who have been diagnosed with monkeypox.
