Learning Objectives
Global Learning Objectives:
- Explain basic and advanced prolotherapy and ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy
- Describe ligament and vein anatomy
- Identify complications and methods to work with ligaments and veins in prolotherapy and foam sclerotherapy
- Identify current research in venous treatment and prolotherapy
Specific Learning Objectives:
- Identify and perform basic prolotherapy techniques
- Gain a thorough knowledge of the anatomy of ligaments
- Comprehend the spectrum of venous insufficiency disease based on the internationally accepted CEAP classification system
- Distinguish the complications and ways to avoid complications when doing prolotherapy and sclerotherapy
- Participate in supervised patient injections of prolotherapy and foam sclerotherapy
- Learn anatomy and common dysfunction of veins
- Recognize the capability and use of duplex U/S for guiding intrafascial injections of incompetent saphenous veins
- Identify and treat venous stasis ulcers
