Learning Objectives

Global Learning Objectives:

  1. Explain basic and advanced prolotherapy and ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy
  2. Describe ligament and vein anatomy
  3. Identify complications and methods to work with ligaments and veins in prolotherapy and foam sclerotherapy
  4. Identify current research in venous treatment and prolotherapy

Specific Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify and perform basic prolotherapy techniques
  2. Gain a thorough knowledge of the anatomy of ligaments
  3. Comprehend the spectrum of venous insufficiency disease based on the internationally accepted CEAP classification system
  4. Distinguish the complications and ways to avoid complications when doing prolotherapy and sclerotherapy
  5. Participate in supervised patient injections of prolotherapy and foam sclerotherapy
  6. Learn anatomy and common dysfunction of veins
  7. Recognize the capability and use of duplex U/S for guiding intrafascial injections of incompetent saphenous veins
  8. Identify and treat venous stasis ulcers
