The Simulation Facilitation Course is taught by two staff members who are Masters-Prepared in Simulation Education. The course reviews best practices related to prebriefing, faciliation of simulation, and debriefing. The main goal is to help create the highest quality simulation education at UW Health and UW SMPH.

Pre-Requisite

You must be an employee of UW Health, UW SMPH, or one of its affiliates to register for this course.

You must complete the Clinical Simulation Program Facilitator Orientation prior to enrolling in this course.

Intended Audience

This activity is intended for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, and pharmacists.

Learning Objectives

  • Define basic simulation terminology and best practices related to prebriefing, facilitation and debriefing
  • Effectively create a psychologically safe environment for immersive simulations
  • Describe the value of debriefing in simulation
