Objectives:

  1. Identify the key audiologic criteria for candidacy, including audiometric thresholds and speech perception scores.
  2. Identify key clinical signs and symptoms that indicate a patient may require urgent cochlear implant evaluation.
  3. Describe various etiologies of hearing loss that can lead to cochlear implant candidacy, and anticipated outcomes associated with them.
