ForwardECCO Training – Advanced Respiratory & Ventilator Care - January 5, 2026
Overview
This class is designed for new employees in the Critical Care Unit (CCU). It provides foundational knowledge of the respiratory system, common pathologies encountered in the CCU population, and essential ventilator management principles from a nursing perspective. The course also includes instruction on arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation and the correlation of ABG results with appropriate nursing interventions.

Intended Audience
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of nurses.
Learning Objectives
As a result of this activity, participants, as members of the healthcare team will be able to:
- Interpret ABGs and describe appropriate management
- Discuss and interpret ventilator alarms and identify appropriate interventions
- Demonstrate how to manage a respiratory arrest
