Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Course for Nephrologists - Multan, Pakistan
Overview
This activity will be a two-day course focused on point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) training for nephrologists. The course will cover the fundamentals of ultrasound, including lung, abdominal, vascular, and limited cardiac imaging. Each topic will include a didactic presentation followed by hands-on training for participants. This international event will take place at the Multan Institute of Kidney Disease, located in the city of Multan, Pakistan.

Learning Objectives

- Identify key clinical applications of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) principles in nephrology
- Perform basic POCUS examinations of the lungs, abdomen, heart, and vessels
- Interpret common POCUS findings relevant to nephrology
- Apply POCUS findings to guide clinical decision-making

![]() | Ali Gardezi, MBBS Dr. Ali Gardezi is a faculty member in the Division of Nephrology within the Department of Medicine. He serves as the Interventional Nephrology Fellowship Program Director and the DaVita Lake Delton Dialysis Medical Director. As a clinical nephrologist, Dr. Gardezi cares for people living with a wide range of renal diseases and disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including dialysis clinics. Dr. Gardezi is a member of the American College of Physicians (ACP), the American Society of Nephrology (ASN), and the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology (ASDIN). As a medical educator, he has provided classroom and clinical instruction on a variety of nephrology topics to medical students and nephrology fellows. |
