A New Era: Diagnosing and Treating Hepatitis C (HCV) in Primary Care Settings
The purpose of this two-part webinar series is to enable the learner to identify people with hepatitis C (HCV) and HIV, and provide HCV treatment to cure patients in the primary care setting. This series is intended for physicians, advanced practice providers, and pharmacists working in primary care clinic settings in Wisconsin.
Intended Audience
This activity is designed for physicians, pharmacists, and nurses in clinics caring for and providing treatment to patience with or at risk of contracting HCV.
Learning Objectives
By participating in this activity, learners will be able to:
- Describe the role stigma and health disparities play in the prevention, care, and treatment of communicable diseases (e.g. HCV & HIV)
- Summarize the role of primary care teams & team members in disease screening and treatment
- Identify existing resources and best practices for the development of patient outreach and education
