Kristin L Rising, MD, MS, is Associate Professor and Director of Acute Care Transitions in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University.
She completed medical school at the University of California San Francisco (2008), emergency medicine residency training at Boston Medical Center (2012), and received a Masters of Science in Health Policy Research at the University of Pennsylvania (2014).
Her career goal is to inform the design and redesign of the care delivery system to incorporate the unique circumstances and preferences of patients and their families. Dr. Rising has served on multiple national expert panels and is on the editorial board for two journals. Her research portfolio has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, The Pennsylvania Department of Health and multiple foundations.
