5th Annual Native Nations Nursing Summit
BUILDING A STRONG MIND, BODY, AND SPIRIT TOGETHER
This summit will focus on educating nurses about the public health needs of Wisconsin Native communities while highlighting the use of an integrated team model in healthcare. This event will include information about pathways to the profession for middle and high school students, career advancement opportunities within nursing, and continuing education for RNs and advanced practice nurses.
ELEMENTS OF COMPETENCE
This CE activity has been designed to change learner competence and focuses on the Interprofessional and Nursing areas of values/ethics for interprofessional practice, roles/responsibilities, interprofessional communication, and teams/teamwork.
Audience
Native and non-Native nurses, Middle/High School/College and returning students, Nursing school advisors, recruiters, and anyone interested in supporting the health of tribal communities.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the summit learners will be able to:
- Identify best practices for an integrative approach to promote wellness in Native communities
- Explain pathways to achieve a successful career in nursing
- Apply principles of public health to nursing care in Native communities
- Recognize signs of intimate partner violence and identify the impact it has in Native communities
