Overview
Adequately assessing safety concerns in the college age population is challenging. This course will review best practices for assessing and documenting these concerns.
Intended Audience
The intended audience for this activity are physicians, nurses, advance practice nurses, psychologists, and social workers.
Learning Objectives
As a result of participation in this educational activity, members of the healthcare team will be able to:
- Describe the value of performing systematic and consistent suicide risk assessment in a variety of clinical scenarios
- Apply the systematic suicide risk assessment for at least 2 clinical scenarios
- Identify opportunities to improve their documentation to improve consistency in reporting on a suicide risk assessment.
Elements of Competence
This educational activity is designed to change learner competence and focuses on the following competencies:
