Hot Topics in Public Health — A Symposium Series: Misinformation/Disinformation in Public Health

We will hear from Ajay Sethi, PhD, MHS, professor of population health sciences and faculty director of our Master of Public Health Program.  

Dr. Sethi will discuss and take questions about the role of misinformation and disinformation in the practice of medicine and public health, including their ramifications on human health. His expertise lies broadly in the study of infectious disease, including addressing public health misinformation.

Learning Objectives

As a result of this educational activity, members of the healthcare team will be able to:

  1. Implement best practices to communicate with individuals across divides of misinformation.
  2. Describe the social and cultural context of misinformation and disinformation.
  3. Explain the ramifications of misinformation and disinformation in public health.
