UHS Summer Academy: Ecotherapy - July 27, 2026
Ecotherapy is a growing field that is rooted in the most fundamental skills humans have used to survive. Over the last few decades, research in psychology, neuroscience, and evolutionary biology have found evidence supporting the use of nature in the mental health field. This session will be a brief overview of a few key aspects of ecotherapy, provide information on ways to incorporate ecotherapy into session, and give college students additional tools for managing their mental health outside of session. Throughout the session, participants will learn how relationships with nature can be a form of cultural expression and healing.
