Learning Objectives:
- Describe the primary visual pathway as well as other pathways involving the optic nerve including sympathetic and parasympathetic responses to light and the optokinetic reflex.
- Identify atypical features of optic neuropathy that warrant more-extensive testing than MRI alone.
- Develop a differential diagnosis for atypical optic neuropathy in part based on red-flag features to maximize the yield of work-up.
