UW-Health NIL: ECCO Hemodynamic Monitoring and Interventions

Overview

This course is designed to develop CCU employees' and orientees' expertise in advanced hemodynamic monitoring hemodynamic interpretation, and appropriate interventions in the CCU patient population. 

Nurses will learn basic hemodynamic principles and how to apply those principles to patient management. Nurses will also learn how to place a PA catheter and management of line.

Learning Objectives

As a result of participation in this educational series, members of the healthcare team will be able to:

  • Interpret hemodynamic numbers and identify appropriate interventions
  • Explain the steps required to place a PA catheter
  • Identify and appropriately use CCU equipment for hemodynamic monitoring
