Neonatal emergencies are rare but unforgiving. When a newborn deteriorates there is little margin for error and early decisions have lasting consequences. This session provides an updated review of neonatal emergencies with emphasis on early recognition initial stabilization and coordination of care across the prehospital and hospital interface.

Dr. Nathan Lepp, another veteran in our series, comes back!

He is a board certified neonatologist and clinical professor with extensive experience in the care of critically ill newborns. He completed his pediatric residency and neonatology fellowship training at nationally recognized academic centers and holds a Master of Public Health degree. His clinical work focuses on neonatal intensive care neonatal resuscitation and transport medicine. Dr Lepp is actively involved in regional and statewide efforts to improve neonatal outcomes and regularly partners with referring hospitals transport teams and prehospital providers to support safe transitions of care for high risk newborns.
