  • Differentiate types of acute kidney injury (AKI) based on location, underlying cause, and impact on renal function.
  • Compare and evaluate currently available biomarkers used to assess renal function, including their strengths, limitations, and ideal clinical applications.
  • Compare equations used to assess glomerular filtration rate (GFR) during changing renal function (e.g., KeGFR, Jelliffe, and measured creatinine clearance) and select the most appropriate equation to use based on the clinical scenario.
