Basics of Treating Patients with Eating Disorders
This is one-hour lecture with Q & A provides learners with an overview of treating patients with eating disorders. It will cover the basics of treatment plans specific to providers at California Polytech.

Intended Audience
This activity is designed for physicians, nurses, social workers, physician assistants, psychologists, and other health care staff at Cal Poly student health services.
Learning Objectives
As a result of this educational activity, learners as members of the healthcare team will be able to:
- List the diagnostic criteria for the different eating disorders, including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Avoidant/Restrictive Eating Disorder, and Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorders
- Identify the criteria for medical admission for a patient with an eating disorder
- Describe potential health outcomes for patients with eating disorders in the context of socioeconomic status and other potential biases.
