Series Overview

This weekly conference focuses on the care of pediatric cardiac patients through case-based discussion, contect-expert presentations, and journal reviews.  Learning occurs with the interprofessional team to incorporate best approaches into the practice of the entire care team.

Target Audience

Pediatric cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, pediatric critical care physicians (MD, DO), cardiac nurses (RN, APRN), PAs, and students.

The University of Wisconsin–Madison ICEP designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 ANCC contact hour. 

ANCC pharmacotherapeutic contact hours will be calculated and awarded as appropriate per session to meet the needs of advanced practice nurses.

Global Objectives: 

As a result of participation in this educational series, participants will:

  1. Be better prepared to use current guidlines, recent evidence and best practice related to diagnoses and treatment of congenital and acquired cardiac disease.  
  2. Increase appropriate application of echocardiogram as a diagnostic and treatment techniques of pediatric heart disease.
  3. Address lab operations concerns raised during quality study analysis of lab function and develop a plan with the echo lab team to address discrepancies. 
  4. Engage in team-based management of the appropriate application of new diagnostic and treatment techniques to improve pediatric cardiology care.
