Series Overview

The Wound Healing Seminar Series is a multi-disciplinary education series that aims to increase the knowledge base of clinicians in the care of patients with wounds across the health care spectrum. This series will choose topics based on suggestions from providers and based on gaps in practice identified by wound care providers at UW Health. The goal of these seminars is to empower clinicians to feel confident in their care of patients with wounds and to understand who their resources are and how to best utilize them. This series will be an opportunity to introduce new techniques and products and will expose the general practitioners to advanced wound healing topics.

Global Objectives

As a result of participation in this educational series, members of the healthcare team will be able to:

• Determine appropriate usage of cost effective and accessible dressings in the outpatient setting 
• Improve collective ability to apply dressings over wounds in the outpatient setting
• Identify and assess wounds and classify them in the outpatient setting independently and with confidence on patients of varying skin tones
• Develop relationships with interdisciplinary team members that play roles vital for treatment of multi-faceted wound healing success

Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)

The University of Wisconsin–Madison ICEP designates this knowledge-based activity for a maximum of 0.75 hours or 0.75 CEUs of CPE credit. Credit can be earned by successfully completing the activity and the evaluation. Credit will be provided to NABP CPE Monitor within 60 days after the activity completion.

Continuing Education Units

The University of Wisconsin–Madison ICEP, as a member of the University Professional & Continuing Education Association (UPCEA), authorizes this program for 0.075 continuing education units (CEUs) or 0.75 hour.
