Series Overview

The Wisconsin Department of Corrections Quarterly Healthcare Meeting is an ongoing series that occurs four times a year.  In these meetings practitioners (MD/DO/APNP/PA) will be able to discuss evidence based medical practices and how they relate to care in the Wisconsin DOC. Key features will include one to three medical lectures, updates on pharmacy and therapeutics, updates on EMR implementation and optimization to streamline and standardize care and an administrative update one where the Bureau of Health Services stands in many areas today.  Additional discussions on quality improvement, efficiencies, and patient centered care initiatives will occur.

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by the University of Wisconsin–Madison ICEP and the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. The University of Wisconsin–Madison ICEP is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The University of Wisconsin–Madison ICEP designates this knowledge-based activity for a maximum of 1.0 hours or 0.1 CEUs of CPE credit. Credit can be earned by successfully completing the activity. Credit will be provided to NABP CPE Monitor within 60 days after the activity completion.
