Example: UW Madison RSS Mid-Cycle Planning Committee Survey - Learn to Thrive 2024

Your participation in the Mid-Cycle Review is an opportunity to have in-depth discussions about your RSS, while contributing to the development of the ICEP RSS community. This review provides accountability for accreditation compliance. ICEP will use the data collected to improve the overall RSS program. This review is also the time for you to consider improvements to your series.

The survey below has six sections. Please click on each section and answer the questions, which are offered as a framework for discussion, as completely as possible. One person (typically the coordinator) will complete the survey on behalf of your group.

The survey can be saved via "Save draft" while you are working. After you have completed all questions, click "Submit." Do not click "Submit" until you ready to submit your responses to ICEP, because you will not be able to edit your responses after submitting.

- Look back at learning objectives for specific sessions.
  - How many of the individual sessions addressed at least one of the global learning objectives?
  - Which global objective(s) was (were) less represented in the objectives for individual sessions?
  - What barriers make it difficult to connect your global learning objectives to sessions?
- What changes can you implement to improve the correlation between session objectives and the global/series learning objectives for the remainder of the 2022-2024 cycle?

M&M/Case Conference/Tumor Board Format
- These series measure changes at the level of learner performance.
- Discuss a few examples of changes that have happened with the team (whether interprofessional or not) so far this cycle -- such as policies, workflows, etc.

  - What has been the impact of this RSS on team-based care?
- Anecdotal evidence is fine.

Section 3: Active Learning Strategies

1) Describe the ways your RSS brings the element of active learning (interactivity) into your sessions. Are you doing something interesting/new? If so, how is it working? How can you encourage more team-based or active learning in your sessions?

2) Identify any tools, patient education materials, practice reminders/guidelines, etc., that have been shared at sessions since the cycle began in 2022.

Section 4: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

1) How are the DEI competencies you selected being achieved in your RSS (these are listed on your series page)? If your RSS didn't select any DEI competencies, consider how they might apply to your RSS in the future.

2) Summarize how an equity lens has been applied to this series. (E.g., Did you foster a learning environment that actively promoted inclusivity and reduced microaggressions? Were disparities, which are relevant to the global learning objectives and supported by the best available evidence, addressed in the RSS sessions?)

Section 5: RSS Improvements

1) Review evaluation data from July 2022 to present. What trends do you see or insights do you have? Are you meeting the educational needs of your learners?

2) Discuss how the content of your RSS addresses quality improvement (QI) in your unit, department, and/or UWHealth. How can you shape your educational sessions to better meet the QI priorities?

3) Based on your conversation today, do you want to make any updates to your current global/series objectives, competencies, or educational format? If so, describe.
